Your Blissful Soul - * SUPREME SOUL IN A GOLDEN FLAME *

          I meditate on Lord Naaraayana,

          The Supreme Soul of the universe,

          Who is in the form of the universe,

          With myriad heads and myriad eyes!

          To Naaraayana, the effulgent Cosmic Person,

          The producer of happiness to all the creatures,

          The destroyer of sins, the Omni present and

          Omni formed God, the Protector of all, and

          The supreme goal of the sages,

          Ever be my salutations!

          Salutations to Lord Naaraayana, the undecaying

          Supremely auspicious soul and the supreme reality

          Of the universe, who is in the form of supreme light

          And great knowledge with pure bliss and divine love!

          He is the infinite self, known as the Brahman,

          The witness of all actions, the most excellent meditator

          And the meditation; what so ever there is in the world

          Known through perception or known through report;

          All that is pervaded by Naaraayana within and without-

          On that imperishable Supreme Soul, I meditate!

          One should meditate on the limitless Supreme Soul

          Dwells in a sea of consciousness in ones own heart

          As great light; the place for meditation is the ether

          In our hearts, thats comparable to an inverted lotus bud

          Where there is a narrow space called the Su-shumna-

          That is the abode of un-decaying Omni faced great fire

          With flames on all sides, enjoying the food presented;

          The rays of which spread scattering themselves all over

          Which warms a person's body from the inside to the crown

          In the centre of that fire which permeates the whole body

          Abides an up-leaping tongue of fire in color of shining gold

          Which is dazzling like the flash of lightening that appears

          In the middle of a rain bearing cloud, which is as slender

          As the awn of a paddy grain and it is the subtlest flame.

          The supreme soul dwells in the middle of that flame!

          He is the Creator, the Lord of universe, the one Omiscient

          He is Siva, Vishnu, Indra, Aditya, and the Eternal Brahman.

          He is the material and the efficient cause of the universe

          And the Supreme self-luminous pure consciousness!

          He, the absolute reality manifests as androgynous person

          In the form of Uma-Maheshwar, who has uncommon eyes.

          Salutations to Lord Naaraayana,

          The Supreme Soul of the universe!

          May Lord protect us both together!

          May He nourish us both together!

          May we both work together

          With great energy!

          May we not hate each other!

          May peace-physical, mental and

          Spiritual be on us forever!

          * Meanings of various names used in the poem.

          1. Naaraayana :- The Supreme Soul in the form of light.

          2. Siva :- The Auspicious Lord, Lord of Eternal Time

          in the form of Supreme Consciousness.

          3. Vishnu : the Supreme Soul, the All-pervading Lord .

          4. Indra : Lord of senses, Lord of Mind and Lord of Heaven

          5. Aditya : The Sun, son of the unbroken Space, and

          The lord of light.

          6. Brahman : The changeless one, Imperishable one,

          and used to mean the Creator.

          7. Uma- Maheswar : the inseparable form of God

          and Goddess, (the Cosmic Male

          & female principles)
