On the last step between the night and day
Leaning to a pillar between question and answer
When I began to count the holes in the Sky,
I saw a little star moving fast towards me!
At once a desire stirred in me to stop it,
My mind shouted in silence: 'Go and catch it!
No, it will burn your palm’ cried my intellect.
How can I stop it? But by an unknown impulse
The little star stopped and greeted me.
I wanted to run away but suddenly appeared
An abyss in front of me creating a doubt:
If I moved forward the abyss would swallow me.
As if it understood my fear, the little star
Came and sat beside me.

Who are you little star?- I queried.
Startled by my question the little star
With a sad face said:'I am a baby’s mind.'
' Where are you going, O baby's mind!
Why do you look so much worried?'-
On hearing my question it began to cry
As if it's heart been broken..
Shed tears, suppressed sobs, it began to say
‘No one cares for me, how can I explain my woes?
God who loved me once, cheated and thrown me
Out into an abyss of darkness;
He lead me through the thorny bushes
Where coiled black serpents lying
And through groves of sandal wood trees
Where white serpents dancing
With upraised hoods; For no fault of mine
Why did he do all this to a baby like me?
Now I am going to his abode to question
Him, to demand an answer from him!
The day before yesterday while he was drawing
Many a picture in front of his house he called me
And requested me to point out his mistakes
If there are any in his paintings;
At the time of beautifying the sky
With strings of stars from one end to other end
When there was nobody to help him,
He called me for his assistance;
When he created multi colored nature
He asked me to choose the best colors
Which color to which flower, which fruit
To which tree and which stalk to which fruit.
He asked me to stand among the flowers,
Fruits, stalks and the branches and told
That, I was his sole adviser and
The most reliable friend in the world;
He asked me to accompany him, while
He went on tours to taste the universal love
And told me then I was his best companion
And the future hope of his creation!
But alas, he forgot all his words of past
And stopped inviting me to his abode!
On a bygone day he lead me into a mountain cave
Then he told me a secret and made me forget it,
Why did he do such injustice? What was my fault?
Once He asked me to visit his abode and on each step
He spread thorns and didn’t care me even when I bled.
I said to him: in future I wouldn’t be visiting his abode,
He must visit my house often,for which he had accepted!

Later for a few days he used to visit my house
To spend his leisure hours, till I get sound sleep,
Now he is not blessing me with such sound sleep.
When he has completely forgotten me
Where's the need for him to care for my sleep?
He is the only one person known to me
Though I've no knowledge of me who I was.
Now I have countless friends visiting my house
One guy advises me to forget God's friendship,
One tells me "the entire wealth in the world is ours
And what ever we desire we must enjoy in our lives"
One friend says "its all useless, don’t care any one
Love your own self!" Other one says " God judges you"
But all they say they came directly from the God
Only to advise me and lead me in a golden path.
Hence, I asked them to wait at my home
Till I find the truth from God, till I return to home!
Why did God send all such friends for my help
I should know why did he desert me in friendship?
Did he think am I unfit for his friendship,
I must know what fault was mine?
No more here I can waste my time,
I should take leave to see my God!"
Saying thus the baby’s mind
With a lovely smile left me there.
The last step on which I was sitting, then
Laughed at me and dissolved into oblivion!
