It was a cold november day
at the local mill in town but
we were warm inside.
Most of the people were
average nothing to write home about.
But 1 person stood out from the crowd
a loomfixer so rugged and handsome.
I would sit and wait for him
inside the door at a table and
how we'd talk.My Dad would
drop me off then pick me up.
But soon this vision in blue coveralls
started taking me home.
We went to the mill christmas party
and were together ever since.
I was laid off in 4 months
but i got something better than a job i got Heaven.
And this is how it all began....
Back then we really dressed up.
Oh how gorgeous in his suit
and me in a fancy ball gown.
When we danced it was like
we were the only ones in the room.
He was a bit on the shy side
never having a serious girlfriend
and though i had experience
i felt butterflies that i landed such a catch.
Now in those days you went parking.
Pretty much the usual chit chat
but that got kind of old.We sat for
some time till he finally said
Aw hell with the cold.He kissed me
and i was hooked. And you know
i never got that cold but it would have
been worth it.My parents really liked him
so there was none of that sneaking around.
He'd come from his house to see me every single day
sometimes walking cause of the weather
(until we joined forces so to speak under 1 roof)
on saturday and sunday nights
we'd sit and talk till the next morning.
Now he had an encounter with My Dad
getting up to go to the bathroom all grumpy
in his robe and socks hair all mussed.
He was a bit scared i'll never forget that.
But he found out My Dad was a pussycat
unless you got him mad just like me.
He grunted at us did his business then back to bed.
Later on they'd sit together and shoot the breeze
a bit while Mom and I watched television.
Yes he became a permanent fixture here
and what a fixture he was!
Up until that point i thought guys were all alike
he proved me wrong and then some!
We played miniature golf and went for rides.
When i went on trips w/my Mom and Dad he went too.
He and I traveled around the country with his Mom and Dad.
(You saw 1 of us you saw the other!)
Now that was a bit rocky cause he was an only child
and they were jealous especially Mom.
But we muddled thru THE PRIZE was well worth it!
Later in years His Dad and mine passed away.
His Mom got sick and he took care of her.
Then when mine got sick he was right there with me.
Not all guys would do that but mine did!
So if he could do all that for so many people at 1 time
just think what he did just for me!
Oh the memories Precious and certainly NOT few!
Later in years the computer and the TV were mostly our passtime
but we shared a lot together unless the 1
didn't like what the other was watching.
I'll NEVER stop loving him I'll NEVER stop mourning him!
But he lives in my heart 4ever and 1 day soon i hope
for our devotion we'll be rewarded with a reunion
that will put the rest to shame!
Faron My Love i miss you more with each passing day!
And my love and appreciation only grows!
There'll NEVER be another for me
when you've had THE BEST-why settle?!
And besides i would feel i was cheating on him
because he's still with me heart and soul!
1 bless-ed day
i'll click my ruby slipper heels together 3 times and
the rainbow productions™ will take me home!
