Smile in Tears

Never Told

We respond in muted letters, words, sentences
In the darkness with low light flicker out at times.

No one is doing the devil; my voice stutters
You never argue, just hold my hands, and feel the warmth.

The skinny moon carves out a sickle for a while,
The rampaging clouds cover it all too quickly.

We fail to break the shackles, without striking back
The shadows on the broken wall mock; put us in shame.

The sudden gust blows the dust all over the room
Outside the stormy winds down trees and power lines.

These soundless talks, pause and start, are not ends themselves.
We weep, strive for the elusive harmonious whole.

Sit in silence, we can't tell each other, the truth
That ripples out to the every nook and corner.
