For My Son

He, my child
full of wonder

I, his mother
sit and ponder

A child so new
and yet so wise

To see the world,
through his eyes

The wondrous beauty
of it all

And in his innocence,
will never fall

He has the courage
no other holds

To live his life,
with the highest of hope.
