Sabbath Rest
A time of rest and worship is,
To rest from work as God from His;
We also have a place of rest,
Then six days we do our best.
We must make every effort,
Not to let ourselves divert;
Because if we go start to sway,
Then we have refused to obey.
His Word is living and active,
With having no alternative;
No one is lost if you follow,
For the rest are vague and hollow.
In reading the Word of the Lord,
Is sharper than a two-edge sword;
It will divide your spirit and soul,
And stop you from reaching your goal.
It will pierce through joints and marrow,
Causing you much pain and sorrow;
As well as judging thought and intent,
Ending in fire and torment.
So that is why you must abide,
For no creature can ever hide;
Nowhere are you able to flee,
All is exposed for Him to see.
So go trustingly to the throne,
For with Christ you are not alone;
God will give His mercy and grace,
And along with His sweet embrace.
