Showing Brotherly Love
We ought to love one another,
Just as if sister and brother;
And as much as God shows His love,
That constantly flows from above.
Nobody has ever seen God,
But by no means is He a fraud;
For if we have not any sin,
Then God will be living within.
His love will then be perfected,
Being one of his elected;
With knowing that He will forgive,
Within Him He will let us live,
He has given us His Spirit,
Since we also do inherit;
For we have seen and testify,
To His name as we glorify.
His Son was sent as a Savior,
Since God looks on us with favor;
So God lives in those who declare,
Grounds for the cross Jesus did bear.
We have known and also believed,
The love of God we have received;
As the Father lives within them,
Never to reject or condemn.
The love of God has reached its goal,
Entering our heart and soul;
So we look onto Judgment Day,
Confident to trust and obey.
