I've grown up on the pretence,
That and angel leaves a feather,
Either acknowledgement of a visit,
Or warning of surrender,
I saw a feather the first time we kissed,
I secretly worried for days,
Not for you, but of others,
I'm prone to them going away.
But after a while I realised,
Maybe I had had the visit,
Noone had been taken,
I had gained a friend, which was not envisaged.
That friendship soon grew,
Before I knew it I could not let go...
I could not let go of you.
Forbidden to allow you in,
I ignored the rules,
With ease, you walked in,
And can never be removed.
I have a scar on my heart,
That secretly bares your name,
No one will ever know of it's existence,
But it's there forever...controlling my pain.
I know you fell too...
I'm sorry,
But I'm not ready...
To get up in a hurry.

You captured me the first time we met,
Your eyes pierced my heart,
A whole different world behind that blue,
It hurts when we're apart.
No matter where the road goes though,
I hope I've made it clear,
My love for you will never end..
So long as the angels are near.
