Authority to Speak
I ask you be gentle and kind,
As with Jesus to ease your mind;
As with me in being humble,
For you will not hear me grumble.
There are things that I have sought,
As firm towards you when I am not;
With you to make sure you have heard,
Everything written in the Word.
So I beg upon you this plea,
To open your eyes so you see;
The authority that we speak,
Must be heard onto those who seek.
Some may be guided by motives,
But must be told that Jesus lives;
And our motive is a Book,
With a sacrifice that Christ took.
We will never argue or fight,
Just guide people onto the light;
For our weapon is a sword,
Which is the Word of Christ the Lord.
Our might and authority,
Has full superiority;
Over any weapon man makes,
It never falters nor forsakes.
We can destroy any defense,
Loaded with disobedience;
Then hold every thought captive,
To repent so God can forgive.
