 once upon a time

Would you do it? What?
Drive down a street and hit a dog and not stop?
Ach, come on, who would do that?
Don’t know, just asking you, would you?
Course not. Is it likely you wouldn’t stop?
Who’re you asking? What’s this all about?
Just the other day six drivers ran over a dog.
They didn’t stop. Can’t blame them for this.
They were in a hurry. Six, you’re kidding!
What happened the dog? Oh it died.
It died? Yeah, everybody was in a hurry.
That is except Linda Fitzpatrick. She tried to help.
Did they run over her, the drivers in a hurry?
No. She was lucky. They drove around her.
She picked up flossy, that’s the name of the dog.
Oh, okay what happened then? She took it to a vet.
Where? Down Stockman’s Lane.
Is that were it happened? No, in Owenvarragh Park.
Dr Flynn, the vet worked all night trying to save Flossy
Pity that it died. Is it likely?
Now think carefully, is it likely?
