 Chaos, Mayhem

Political firestorm rages over DC;
Left… Right… the pendulum swings.
Listen to the rumble strips under our wheels,
Steering violently away from the other side.
A new dawn… Yes we can! The sun is setting
Without change; only frustration, ineffectiveness.
Chaos, mayhem; until we all fall down.

The Right rises with a new savior of our land;
Politics combined with religion,
Legislating righteousness.
Yet, is this a wrong move, I ask?
Society moves away from principle
Into the vacuum void of right or wrong.
Chaos, mayhem; until we all fall down.

We have political rhetoric pouring
From our media from now until November.
I am curious how we will respond;
Will our nation rally…
Or will we continue to polarize?
America, will we unite? Or will we drift into…
Chaos, mayhem, until we all fall down.
