spring fairy photo: Spring Fairy innocenceweblarge.jpg

Early spring
after a night storm

the sun

rising benignly in the
morning sky, soft and vaporous

looking more like the moon
through the shroud of fog
than the blazing orb

destined to later appear

fuschia redbud blossoms
pop out of the mist,
showy in their
harlot color

the burgeoning trees,
twisted gnomes
seem to move
in the gray

raining dew with the wind

creeping on fairy wings
the season of rebirth
is ushered in
