Carol's Journey

Temp Position to Begin

This weekend will be a multiple celebration
Palm Sunday and ladies retreat anticipation
Also rejoicing in the blessings He has in store
As temp job begins Monday by an open door

Prior week I submitted my resume for data entry
Twelve week urgent need project through agency
Post listed Word and Excel as main qualifications
I had no experience in areas of the job description

Surprised when agency called me back same day
He listened as I explained my situation right away
Waiting on potential temp and full-time opportunity
He indicated to follow up next week with certainty

The week began with some discouraging news
When prior temp job put on indefinite hold too
God had a definite reason for opportunity ending
Plus nothing heard on full-time interview pending

Tuesday afternoon I left a voice mail with agency
By end of day he responded by email to my inquiry
Would I submit to drug screen and a credit check
I agreed, having nothing to hide as a matter of fact

Wednesday he called for my personal information
Emailed skills assessment I passed as confirmation
Thursday I met with him to discuss my work history
Same day background check approved with certainty

I see God’s hand that temp job involved no interview
Training will be provided on site for each aspect too
Also no extensive phone work, great for voice situation
God’s mercies are new every morning without question

Job start date changed to April 9th per agency today
Dr. appointment I cancelled, still available Tuesday
Wednesday I scheduled car check-up and oil change
God’s timing never fails even in ways He rearranges

Let this be my prayer, early to bed and early to rise
Quality sleep every night to rest my body and eyes
Shine for Jesus by uplifting word or smile on my face
So others see His reflection through me in the workplace

Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
