Do you remember that day
The beautiful girl the sands of May
You were a looker that day
And two of us were in love
Sadly with the image of the same person
And I remember fondly your words
"We are too serious I need to see others!
To know the image of my beauty."
So like shifting sands I was drifted away
Wonder what you see in the pool of sands today?
For I never looked at my own image
And built a Castle of my own
As for others--my love clearly shown
For as the sands later return to the beach
What wisdom in time does teach
For by now the beauty is replaced with age
And only sad memories does vanity replace
For vanity can be washed away in incoming tide
The reality of that seen in a mirror hard to hide
My poetry sometimes has a story. You see in college
this girl was hot. And she wanted to see others.
Always looking in a mirror. Wonder what she sees today
I understand her third husband moved away
