 once upon a time

DESTINATION

Setting out once again, gazing
down the road of hopelessness.
Don’t know were I’m going, but
Sitting on the bus counting the raindrops
Sliding down my window I know there’re the
Only tearful farewells I will receive from a town
That I never really knew so well.

The leaving is all that matters.
The destination is somewhere out of sight.
Most likely another stopping place on
the road to god knows where.
The humming of the tyres on the blacktop
are a familiar song, one I know so well.

I always hum along not knowing or caring
where I’m going. Don’t mind where I end up.
Its the leaving and knowing, that the only
tearful farewells are the raindrops sliding down my window.
I’m moving on looking for a destination.
