The soul has much to say

A perfect sacrifice...for an imperfect people

What did it take?

Imagine…

leaving the glory
of Paradise eternal
for utter darkness
and despair

Consider

exchanging
Kingly attire
for the finite
robes of humanity

Try

withholding tears
after witnessing
mankind's desperate
heart

Walking

through the masses
of the broken and sick
Pleas for mercy
from myriad tongues

Talking

to the faithful
and the faithless
Both in need
of a Savior

Teaching

those who
hunger and thirst
for righteousness
sake

Healing

with compassion
Refreshing with purpose
Admonishing with fire
a generation of vipers

Weeping...

over the human condition
For souls shooting arrows
of rebuke and scorn
Forever…lost

Fulfilling

the will of the Father
Wearing the cloak
of indiscretion
yet remain Holy

Showing

the love of God
Obedient
Selfless
Free

Enduring

the worst of us
to save us
Knowing the best
is yet to come

Understanding

betrayal
denial
rejection
the sickness of public opinion

Bearing

the scars of all evil
to be done under the sun
Tasting the fists of those
created by His hands

Carrying...

the burden
that no one else could
with humility
Pure charity

Embracing

being impaled
to a tree
An earnest reward
meant for me

Seeing

the Father's back
turned by man's nature
Brutally placed
upon His shoulders

Beholding

conflicted souls
while suspended
between Heaven
and earth

Saving

one last breath
The brief wind
of forgiveness
and soon…triumph

Agents

of wickedness
howling with delight
Satan bathing in
a cesspool of pride

A moment…

of silence
A state of sadness
True believers
crying out "What now"?

Glorious

Resurrection morn
The rolling away
of a stone
For He is risen

Departing

with words
of wisdom and instruction
Evangelizing the world
for He will come again

Ascending

to where He belongs
Right hand of the Father
is His place
Salvation to impart

A perfect sacrifice

for an imperfect people

creed sacrifice
