A COUNTRY MAN

There is a country man in me
He lives inside my soul
I see him as I drive the land
Through wind and rain and snow

He would come to save me
If I were distressed
He would wan to work to marry me
A life of two to one both blessed

Sometimes walk these roads in cowboy boots
Look at the sky in awe
Go to the land to see the roots
Where miles of wheat is law

That's the country man he lives in me
As there is nothing as far as the eye can see
Except the Earth at your feet
                                         the sky at your head
In the middle that country man in me
                                       With nature free
                                                          'nough said.
