His Words Immortalized About Horses

You really know nothing
about horses,
he said...
but you think you do.
Girls have romantic ideas...
but the truth is most horses
are just like people.
There are horses that are like convicts.
They will turn on you
they are lazy and want nothing
to do with you
or the job you have for them to do.
Then there are the smart animals,
the sort that like to work.
They know they are better than the cows.
And so they push them around
every opportunity they get,
and will work all day and then some.
Power is a funny thing,
those horses understand just what it is
to be better than another animal.
Yes, horses are like people.
They don't like to be ridden by people
who are stupid and sloppy in the saddle.
I've seen a horse laugh and let his rider go
just like a pea sprung from his pod.
The man was bouncing near a foot off the saddle
and the horse was going to have none of that.
You just see how it is
when you're the one with the sore back and
there's a freeloader who thinks
you're completely at his disposal...
just a piece of horse flesh.
I'll bet that hotshot won't ever forget
who was the boss
and who was not in the saddle.
