Poetic-Verses from ATHANASE

ENGLISH :

ΓενηθÞτω φῶς
(Let there be light)

Go, take the bracelet
Of my tenderness for the road.
And take this necklace of blue tits
In case you thirst for song.

Go, go back to that land
Where peaceful
Generous earth
Converses with
Shy white seeds.

Leave in the morning
When the first primrose
Lights with a magical modesty
The only path
To the little house in the country.

Go, soul, with your hands
Full of a vestal’s stored-up power
So that at last
There may be light!
