Vahnivasini

On the fifth cycle of waxing Moon
I meditate on Goddess Sri Lalita, who
Assumes the form of Vahnivasini!

I adore Thee, O Goddess of Sacrificial fire!
You are the enjoyer of oblations offered with purity.
You are the cosmic energy that resides in a fire pit
At the base of Spinal cord in the human body.
You are the energy that resides at the core of earth!
Your body resembles molten gold with divine beauty
You are clad in yellow silks, adorned with rubies
Your luster is mixed with red effulgence of rubies
Your golden crown is studded with a brilliant ruby
Even the pearls that you wear are shining in red!

You are holding in Your hands, the full moon,
A golden pot of fruit, a red sugar cane bow, and
Pomegranate flowers; Your smile is the spring
Upon the earth, and it is the Youthful vigor in men.
O Vahnivasini, who dwells in the flames of fire,
You are not only beautiful but also fierce, when
You consume the world at the time of dissolution!

Of power and beauty to man; You are the fire
Which makes a man enjoy the pleasures of life.
You are the spiritual energy that awakens in
A man and leads him on the path of Heaven!
