Tongue Power
Gentle answers turn away rage,
Letting life to start a new page;
But a harsh word stirs up anger,
With words that can become vulgar.
For soft answers turns away wrath,
And will not be crossing your path;
As the grievous word stirs up hate,
With devastation in your fate.
The tongues of the wise will express,
Very good knowledge that can bless;
But the mouths of the fools will pour,
Words that are sounding immature.
A soothing tongue will give you life,
But deceitful tongues are causing strife;
Perverseness breaks down the spirit,
And relationships inhibit.
The stubborn fool hates discipline,
The father gives whence he may sin;
And rather live while ignored,
The eternal Word of the Lord.
But if you do treasure His Word,
You will have pleasure what is heard;
And have a change in attitude,
No longer stubborn and rude.
The Lord has eyes everywhere,
Just as His ears will hear each prayer;
So every word that you say,
Including evil come what may.
