Promise of Forgiveness
Who do you dread and fear,
So much that you would lie;
Forgetting God is near,
And will be asking why.
You show you do not care,
With hate and disrespect;
And not willing to share,
As His Word you reject.
It has been a long time,
Since God spoke to you;
But payment for your crime,
Does have a balance due.
You have no righteous way,
Because what you have done;
As you constantly stray,
All the good things you shun.
But it will not help you,
The fake gods that you save;
Finding this life is through,
And you are in your grave.
For the Lord will condemn,
Whence taken your last breath;
As the wind carries them,
From your eternal death.
But if you put your trust,
As you prepare the way;
The Lord will stop your lust,
That makes you go astray.
The High and Lofty One,
Is living forever;
For the change has begun,
That you cannot sever.
Build a road and make way,
To renew your spirit;
Rid the detours that stray,
Be meek to inherit.
