BRIANNA ART PROMPT 13
A decade ago my niece was killed in a tragic
accident was a speeding Porsche. She was driving
a motor home. Her husband an athlete. The family
was going to Canada to watch the meet. Her children
rode with the Grandma in the car behind. The kids saw
it all. The crash, the motor home go up in flames.
Mom was in her early thirties. At the funeral site
I wrote a memorial poem for Staci as I watched these
children let balloons in the air. The poem was put
into an anthology and I gave the copy to Grandma.
Today Brianna now grown up and in college still
remembers the poem. Taking art classes it has come
back to me.
