Poetic Verses
High Pride
One sunny afternoon
I went out for a walk
alone in my silence
I was not one to talk.
My eyes looked around
and I heard nature call.
I glanced just in time
and the sight made me fall.
He was up on his high horse
with a sharp gleam of pride.
He gestured to me
"Come along for the ride."
I thought for a moment,
I could barely see his face.
his ego was blinding
and I felt out of place.
He wanted my attention,
I tried to look away.
the clothes that he wore
spoke to me that day.
I stood with a blank stare,
nothing came to mind.
I needed to get away
leave this conceit behind.
He then went on his way
a real steady course.
I spoke with a shout,
"Don't fall off your horse!"
The words came to me
that day where I stood.
Way up on his high horse
that man is no good.
He thinks of himself,
that's all he can see.
Alone in his pride
is where he'll always be.
