It has been a long time and time does not stand still
I remember the day so well we heard about the wreck
A mother with so much promise taken from us by insanity
A man who would commit suicide and take a stranger with him
Staci had so much to offer. A husband, an triathlon athlete
Two lovely children under the ages of ten
Forced to watch as Mom went up in flames in the car following
Today the kids have grown up and are in Mom's college
So life is moving on as it surely should
But not without remembering Mom and her favorite song
You have all heard the song Beneath the wings
But at her funeral there were many homeless people
Dressed in rags and yet with tears in their eyes for one of their own
Staci unbeknown even to family once a week went to the shelters
From her own pocket brought food and clothing took care of the sick
When I look at Brianna's art I see what a child saw that day
And today we all rest beneath the wings of an Angel peering down
