She was persistent in her pursuit…
Pure resoluteness to recruit
The Holy Man to meet her need.
She put her pride aside to plead.
Dismissed by His disciples first…
Seemed her dilemma just got worst.
The man Of God had cut her short,
But hope would not depart her heart.
He’d spoken of the children’s bread…
Had He not heard a word she’d said?
Could He not see her deep dismay?
She just could not be turned away!
With hair unkempt and eyes gone wild…
Horrors from hell possessed her child!
She’d heard they’d flee at His commands…
This Holy Man with healing hands…
She would not touch the children’s bread.
She’d settle for the crumbs instead.
Knew things could change if she was able
To collect crumbs from the Master’s table.
Some may have judged the Master mean
But things aren’t always as they seem.
He waited for her faith to crest,
Then gladly granted her request.
“Your faith has made your daughter whole.”
Some words are soothing to the soul.
For considering the total sum
We can conquer all with just one crumb!

22And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil 23But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. 28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
