Living the Dream                                                    5/2/12

             Living the dream:                5/2/12

Around the world and back again;
From no rain in sunny California to
Hellish hot summers and dripping running
Water during Louisiana's cold winters;

Through many trials,
continued tribulations,
and plenty of false relations;

Around the world and back again:
While attempting to cope with moving from near my folks
by robbing and kicking in doors,
I damn near lost my soul;

Not knowing which path to take,
Mother guiding me to a place where family was
Every neighbor's gate,
Couldn't see that life was on the verge of becoming great,
Took destiny in my own hands and tried to take
God's granted grace;

Wrote a letter and took some pills,
Waiting to wake In front the devils face
For erasing my own fate;

Around the world and back again:
Awoke sicker than a dog,
Thanking the Lord that it wasn't my time to call
Hell my eternal home;

A week later,
Once I passed the sickness and pain,
I knew I was destined to be more than just dread,
Started jotting down thoughts from the conclaves of my head,
Contemplating reciting words that are read,
But that was thinking far ahead;

Slowed down my thoughts and focused on a plan
to get out of my mother's house and build my own Plymouth rock,
Picked up a basketball and started shooting the rock non-stop;

Most wanted me to quit,
Stating all I would do is flop,
Only gave me more fuel for my flame
to matriculate and continue aiming for my college route,
Graduated and made it to the next journey
before the sand in my hourglass no longer drained;

Around the world and back again:
Doing my thing and loving the game
until my coach's heart stopped and things began to slowly change,
Lost focus on my dream,
Started chiefing to cloak the hellish dreams,
Almost didn't graduate while in that mindstate,
But God's plan is better than great,
Made it out the big apple without my soul turning rotten,
However my dreams were lost and forgotten;

Around the world and back again:
Started rapping with my brother and some of his friends,
Spitting hot flames,
Making small change,
But then thangs quickly slowly began to change;
My brother told me he needed me to remain,
But I thought he was tripping
And refused to listen to what he was saying,
12 months later I was talking to the undertaker,
Verifying that it's my sibling on the table;

Around the world and back again;
That was when my head began to frantically spin in all directions,
Traveling without direction,
Questioning God,
But still asking and seeking vision,
Journeyed in limbo for plenty years passed,
Married and divorced without a seed to slow
Down my path;

Around the world and back again:
It's my third time trying,
Back to the beat again…
Finally back on my greezy living the dream!!!
