Mother's Nature
Her will was forged by child reared years
A heart of Gold persevered
Life's hard knocks tempered her soul
To so endure, yet to take hold
Know of less when less was none
Birthing four daughters and two sons
Brood they'd sown, as father played
His role at war, and lonely preyed
She'd mop up tears in her own fight
Beside herself on lonely nights
But gave not in to life's delights
Held like glue she stuck it out
Lean but clean if talked about
Seeing through more than she saw
With acts of love to no applause
A rock of sorts, Diamond in rough
Of character, more than just tough
The pinnacle of our success
The so much more and nothing less
And though now gone, we honor her
In heart she's carved, in us she stirs
A better place, a frame of mind
Leaving her mark throughout all time
Happy Mother's day mom….We miss you!
