Each one unique if given thought
From infant stage and life it brought
Unto the world your breath this day
Was first but hers who made the way
She raised you well though times you felt
She gave you hell and used her belt
Correcting ways you felt were good
A lesson learned, well understood
She fed and bathed and changed you too
Apart from her no love you knew
Before time came to bring your own
As she did you when life was sown
She carried you in womb secure
A place where you were too assured
Months lived rent free, the better part
When birth day came, lessons did start
Nurtured along the path to come
Your place today to overcome
The trials of life, taught by the one
You call mother, dear daughter, son
Small price you paid to learn for free
All that is good if thought indeed
For no one will or ever do
What she gave to someone like you
Love that gives and keeps on giving
Though broken heart always forgiving
Embrace unknown as scent hers too
Becomes of them when they're with you
Hold them close yet closer still
Breathe deep of them beyond your fill
Remind them now how much they mean
Before life ends and takes such dreams
For mothers are and and always were
Heart beat of life now yours of hers
Remember this if just one thing
Was given too, with Gods blessing
Happy Mothers Day to all..Eddie Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades
