AM I REALLY DEAD?

  I am standing just outside
Of this city spread so wide
In the distance…just ahead.
Could it be that I am dead?

Am I dreaming…could this be
An illusion…fantasy?
If it’s real I’ve made a choice
To jump, shout, and to rejoice!!

I just can’t contain my awe
After seeing what I saw!
Just ahead…out of the mist…
Do others know this does exist!?

If this proves to be a dream,
I will tell them what I’ve seen.
He promised to prepare a room…
That we’d all be with Him soon.

I’ve so longed to see this place…
To gaze upon my Savior's face…
All my family and each friend…
Did my journey really end?

With heart pounding in my chest
I feel a burning in my breast!
Heaven is one breath ahead…
Tell me, am I really dead?

Looking for some clarity
I’m facing stark reality.
“Yes,” I hear the words within,
“You are truly dead to sin.”

“In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” John14:2

In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. V)">14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”  Romans: 6:11
