This Is The Day That The Lord Has Made...I Will Rejoice and Be Glad In It!

Psalm118:24

CAN YOU HEAR THE TREES?

The road led me to a neat row of trees
Stretching their limbs to the sky
Just one step before the sight blurring mist
Stood a picture to please any eye

But, wait! What is that sound that I hear?
I must take a moment to pause!
Amazed! Are the leaves really laughing?
And could that be the sound of applause?

Although out of sight the river, also,
Was clapping its hands in delight!
The hills harmonized with the mountains!
And birds played their fiddles in flight!

O, glory! The earth is rejoicing!
What has happened to bring this about?
The sun’s shaking the sky with its dancing…
Hey! The stones are beginning to shout!

“It’s been confirmed,” whispered the wind,
“I caught the good news on a breeze
Mankind has repented and turned back to God!”
O, glory! Can you hear the trees?

~~AUTHOR’S NOTE~~
The Bible is the Word of God and should be
taken literal when literal is applied…however,
we must remember He uses parables, hyperbole,
metaphor, symbolism, and personification to bring
His points across. DJC

“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands” (Isa. 55:12).

Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; (Psalm98:8)
