.”“Mommy, it’s a flying flower!” Three-year-old Tommy Boy exclaimed. “Oh-h-h, Mommy, he’s so beautiful!” His joy was uncontained! She smiled into his laughing eyes… Those inquiring eyes of blue. “Mommy, I have got a question… Did God make this guy, too?"
“Yes, He sure did.” Her fingers found Their way to stroke his hair. But God didn’t make him beautiful. He had to change so he could wear This lovely garment you see now… Once just a grubby green. He went through transformation.” “Mommy, what does that word mean?” “Do you recall the story of The princess and the frog? She kissed him and a handsome prince Was found sitting on the log?” “Oh, yes, I do remember that.” His sweet face bore a smile. She marveled at the childlike faith... Innocence of her child. “God kissed a caterpillar And gave him wings to try. He had a born again experience… And became this butterfly! Son, God does the same with people… He kissed us all with love. One day He’ll give us wings to fly To our Heavenly Home above.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away ; behold , all things are become new.”
2nd Corinthians 5:17
Caterpillars transformed into butterflies is an example, just one example, of how God works in a persons life. People without God are like the caterpillar. People with God in their life are like the butterfly. But as a caterpillar goes into a cocoon, a very small confined place, and after a time emerges as the butterfly, so people also go through a process of change after they have submitted to God in their lives. The process is difficult, but is necessary to change a person. A life of ease leaves us the same for years. But challenges force us to grow, to improve. The clearest story I can point out to you is the story of Joseph in the Bible in Genesis. If you have a Bible then look in Genesis 37:1-36, Genesis 39:1-23, Genesis 40:1-23, Genesis 41:1-57, Genesis 42:1-38, Genesis 43:1-34, Genesis 44:1-34, Genesis 45:1-28, Genesis 46:1-7, 29, 30, Genesis 47:1-26.
Joseph’s cocoon time was from Genesis 39:1 to Genesis 41:14. His butterfly time started in Genesis 41:14 and lasted until the day he died. But actually, it went farther than that. His butterfly period of life went with him into eternity after death.
