 ramblings and things

It's an onerous duty being
Instructed to survive
When you don't really know
If you want to be alive.
They tell me it's grief
That will in time go away
And I suppose I am crying
A little less each new day.

So I face the world
Eyes opened wide
But a lot of my time spent in
Our world deep down inside;
Unchanged and unchanging
This world of our own
Where for a while I can forget
Outside I feel so very alone.

I remember our lives,
So many words that you said
And I try keep them fresh
In my silly old head.
And I'll try to carry on
And I'll try to survive
And maybe one day again
Find some joy in being alive.
