Preparation before planting
Check the climate
Have all necessary garden tools
Dress properly
I dug deep into earth's soil
Preparing and layering the surface
Planting you from seeds
Watering and nourishing you
Rain showering upon you
Dew drops cling to you in early morning
Sun like a blaze of fire
Brightly shines down on you
Heating up the earth
Some days hot and scorching
Causing you to wither
Budding, growing, sprouting
Green flourishing peeping out
Weeds grow between you
Cultivating and fertilizing you
Wind with its powerful force
Blows through you
Swirling twirling
Circulating the air
All around trying to keep you cool
Some days the wind bends and shakes you
Still you grow in abundance
Birds and creatures
Are drawn to you
Butterflies flutter above you
Insects crawl and fly
Blue skies smile down on you
The elements- Earth Wind Fire Water
Help your growth
You need all of them
Ode to you garden
Nature's gift of summer

The soil is the great connector of our lives, the source and destination of all.
- Wendell Berry -
And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
- Kahlil Gibran -
I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift
- Robin Wall Kimmerer -
"Seeds are a place and a product and a memory; they offer us a collective inheritance in the form of a tiny and simple time capsule."
I lift up my face to the summer sky
The sound of larks
And the feel of dirt
To all that keeps making sense
In senseless times.
