~Far From Home~
(Blessed Cross)

God can protect us from any harm
Having Him better than any charm
His Word says we're never alone
No matter close or far from home.

Nobody knows when our time on earth will just end
Won't you come to Him today as you are my friend
Just accept His salvation as to Him you pray
Jesus can't and won't force you in any which way.

Once you repent invite Him in
Receive His gift He'll wash your sin
He offers salvation to all
Make sure you heed His loving call.

No one else can do this but you
God will help you in all you do
Far from home but not from Father
If you don't have Him life's harder.

God can protect us from any harm
Once you repent invite Him in
No one else can do this but you
Having Him is better than any charm
Receive His gift He'll wash your sin
God will help you in all you do.

The " Blessed Cross" is a new poetry form created by Dorian Petersen Potter,
on October 14,2009.
This form consist of 4 Quatrains, and 1 sestet of 6 refrain lines each.
Three quatrains go down and they can have either a syllable count of 6, or 8
syllables . Consistent syllable count, tha means that if you choose 6 syllables
for the first quatrain stanza, the other 2 quatrains have to be done with the
same 6 syllables count. If you decide to do the first quatrain with 8 syllables,
the other 2 quatrain stanzas then have to be done with 8 syllables too.
Only one Quatrain is done with a syllable count of 12 and that goes across to
form the cross shape. All four Quatrains are done in couplet lines.
Pattern scheme goes like this:

First Quatrain....6 or 8, (done in couplet lines of either syllable count chosen 6 or 8)
Second Quatrain...12 syllables (done in couplet lines)
Third Quatrain...6 or 8 (done in couplet lines. The same syllable count as quatrain 1)
Fourth Quatrain...6 or 8, (done in couplet lines. The same syllable count as quatrain 1 and 2)

1 Sestet(6 last lines of poem) they go as follow:
First line: First line(refrain) of first Quatrain is repeated here
Second line: Second line( refrain) of first Quatrain is repeated here
Third line: First line(refrain) of second Quatrain is repeated here.
Fourth line: Second line(refrain) of second Quatrain, is repeated here
Fifth line: First line(refrain) of third Quatrain is repeated here.
Sixth line: Second line(refrain) of third Quatrain is repeated here.

Subject: Spiritual or uplifting in nature.

It has to be center aligned to show the form of the cross.I observed that the
6 syllable count, shows better the beauty of the cross shape than the 8 syllable
count, but that's only my opinion.I like them both ways. You make your choice.

See that example above was done using the 8 syllable count in each quatrain 1,3,
and 4.
Poem example below I've done it this time using only the 6 syllable count
in each quatrain 1,3 and 4.

God protect us from harm
Him is better than charm
With Him we're not alone
No matter far from home.

Nobody knows when our time on earth will just end
Won't you come to Him today as you are my friend
So accept His salvation as to Him you pray
Jesus can't and won't force you in any which way.

Once repent let Him in
Get His gift He'll wash sin
He gives salvation all
Make sure you heed His call.

No one can can do but you
God helps in all you do
Far from home not Father
Without Him life's harder.

God protect us from harm
Once repent let Him in
No one can do but you
Him is better than charm
Get His gift He'll wash sin
God helps in all you do.

Hope you try it yourself, sometimes too.It is a very pretty form.Looking forward
to see what you can come up with it.Hope you enjoy this new format as much
as I've enjoyed creating it for the last few weeks.
