Have you thought of yourself as a temple
Housing The One from above?
The Son and the Spirit abide in your bosom
You’re furnished with Father God’s love
O, isn’t the thought overwhelming?
You rooming the Heavenly Dove?!
A mere earthen vessel with varied defections
Veiling this treasure thereof
Your temple is trimmed in God’s favor
Painted with power galore
Your ceiling can reach the highest of Heavens
A welcome to faith mats your floor
Each window pane sparkles with promise
Each door graces one Angel guard
Cupboards are crammed with gifts of the Spirit
The kitchen spurts scents of the Lord
The furnace is fired with forgiveness
The basement is bursting with song
The front porch is usually open for prayer
And the Light on the back porch stays on
You’re a welcoming sight to a sinner
Whose journey through life left them cold
Yes, you are a temple the Lord God can live in
To welcome lost sheep to His fold

Dedicated to Pastor Wanda
whose Word inspired this poem
With the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us,
protect the good treasure that has been entrusted to you.
2nd Timothy 1:14
Do you not know that you are a temple of God
and {that} the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1st Corinthians 3:16
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
so that the surpassing greatness of the power
will be of God and not from ourselves;
2nd Corinthians 4:7
