Just Believe
Look into the eyes of a child
When they still believe
And encourage them to carry on
When others give them grief
Belief in things crazy
Silly or mundane
Is what drives a person on
For some it keeps them sane
Take a child’s belief
You take their very soul
Because a child without it
Simply isn’t whole
Just take a child by the hand
And show them the stars
Point out the moon and sun
Tell them we’ll live on Mars
Join them in kissing Fairies
And welcome imaginary friends
Hug them when the hounds come
And help them understand the message that it sends
Each of us has held a child
Who’s too scared to tell the truth
Just in case what they say
Needs undisputed proof.
