Memorial Day

For those who loved their country more than life;
For those who gave up peace for danger and strife.
For those who held firm while others mocked and laughed;
For those who chose to dodge bullets, not the draft.

For those who faced the horrors of war and did not flinch;
For those who stood their ground without yielding an inch.
For those who shelved their dreams, to answer freedom's call
For those in harm's way, earning their place in hero's hall.

For those to whom "patriot" is more than just a term;
For those who gave their all, and now feed the worm.
This day we set aside to honor all you gave.
This day we remember you, and decorate your grave.
