I saw you in the mango tree
trying to hide from me
I called out for you to see
that I was alone and free
You were busy building a tree house
with no time to hear my shout
I quickly climbed up beside you
offering a helping hand
that's when you stole my heart
as you gently took my hand
We created a hideaway for us to play
Meeting there each and every day
Our youth found first love in that mango tree
with future dreams that never came to be
I now hear your laughter as I walk by
I know you see me from high up in the sky
With aching heart my thoughts shall never be free
Of the day I called out to you in the mango tree
`Our carvings are still on the tree
for all of the world to see
When love first came to you and me
In our Hideaway under the Mango Tree`
