My best friend was all alone
Until one day you came
And upon my wedding day
Asked her to be your ain
Tall and dark and lanky
You walked her down the aisle
Seems like only yesterday
And often brings a smile
When I remember long ago
How you knelt at my feet
Being three sheets to the wind
You were very sweet
I grinned at you just kneeling there
And told me in the end
You had found the reason
Your wife was my best friend
It`s your voice you said aloud
So lovely to the ear
I understand why she`s your pal
You sound so nice my dear
Life is full of memories
Of all those days gone by
And when I remember them
I`ll try not to cry
Because I know that you will be
In Heaven up above
Listening to the voices
Of Angels you will love
Chatting with your family
And feeling oh so grand
So I won`t feel too sorry
God took you by the hand
Come on Jim He smiled and said
The music`s just begun
Trumpets blowing just for you
So Welcome Home - My Son.
