FIREWORKS
It made me shiver,
the first time your eyes
looked into me
no one should have eyes
that color…glacial melt blue
but capable of tempting
a body to ignite
mapping the contours,
the crags of your face
it feels as if I could
fall into your dimples...or kiss them
if you'll let me
sitting so coolly across from me
in the heat of a late spring sun
your tanned skin begs me
to touch it
haven't wanted anything so much
in a really long time
but there you have it…
my desire sprawled right there
in front of you, God, and
the rest of creation
and I knew that's the way it would be
a stroll down the sidewalk proved
how perfectly I fit under your arm that way,
and you chuckled when I said it
that deep, sonorous voice alone
could make a girl's clothes
just fall off…
can't help but smile as I say that,
but pretty much everything about you
makes that happen
Fireworks?
You bet.
How lucky can a girl get?
