Back To The Past...Well here I am once again! Up the wall with my flipping pain! Writhing about all flipping night, Every morning I look a sight! My eyes are sunken and tired, I can't sleep no matter how I've tried! No more steroids to help me out! Cos they messed up, there is no doubt! So steroids are a thing of the past, At the end of the day, they don't last! One day they were going to stop, I guess the time was up on the clock! Back to the past when pain was raw, Oh flipping heck, now another door! So I enter in, take things slow, Do what I can to make the pain go. But I have to be realistic, it's true, There's nothing on earth anyone can do. So I'll stick to the pain meds, it's all I've left, Oh woe is me, I'm so bereft! So the spine and the ribs, oh dear me, I can't stand the pain, it's terrible you see. I have to prop up my ribs each night in bed, Cos the pain is horrendous, it has to be said! Nothing really works; there I am each night, With a pain uncontrolled, oh what I plight! So sleep evades me once again... And all because of this stupid pain!!! Back to the past; no steroids to help me... The pain in my body is raw you see. So I look to the future and dread what I face, But nothing I can do, but slap a smile on my face. And I know that God will help me out! Of that there isn't any doubt! I'm only here facing what I face, Because God has blessed me with His grace! You see, if I didn't have Him in my life, I'd not be able to live with this strife! There is much to be said about my faith, God's in every single breath that I take! And it's He that sees me through the pain!! Cos if He didn't, I wouldn't wake up again! I think I'd want to die instead! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
