* TO SHIVA WITH THE ESSENCE OF VEDAS *

  ~*~

I meditate on Shiva, the Great God alone,
The Lord of beings, the Destroyer of sin,
Whose garment is nightly sky,the elephant skin,
And who has a river of light in his matted hair!
  ~*~
I praise Shiva, the ever blissful Lord with five faces,
The Great God, God of gods and the destroyer of Asuras
The mighty lord of the Universe, besmeared with sacred ashes
Whose three eyes are the Sun, Moon and the Cosmic fire!
  ~*~
Lord of Bhavani, the mother of universe, with a crescent
In His matted hair, the Great Lord who holds a Trident,
All-pervading One, Lord of the Universe and Cosmos
Multi formed One,Lord Absolute,O Shiva, Be kind to us!
  ~*~
The Supreme Self and the beginning of all,
The one seed of Creation, designated by eternal sound Aum
The formless and the desireless One, To the adorable Lord
From whom the world comes into being, by whom it is
Sustained and into whom it dissolves- to Him, salutations!
  ~*~
I praise Him who is neither the earth, nor water
Nor Fire, nor Air nor Ether, who is neither at
Rest nor at sleep, who is neither affected by heat
Nor by cold, who has neither a place nor any attire!
  ~*~
I worship Shiva, the eternal One, who has no birth
Nor death, the cause of all causes, Auspicious One,
Supreme Lord, and the illuminator of all luminaries,
Who is always awake, ever vigilant, the One without
A second, and who has no beginning nor an ending!
  ~*~
Salutations, Salutations to the mighty Lord of Universe
Who should be known through meditation or by penance
Salutations, Salutations to Him whose form is Great bliss
And who is known through the knowledge of Vedas!
  ~*~
O Shiva, Thou destroyer of all bondage of the Jivas
The world is born of Thee; it always exists in Thee
O Lord, in Thee, who is symbolised as ShivaLingam,
It again is absorbed and the World is but Thyself!
