Father's Day
After the day for mother, it is now time to honor and remember
That person who brought those fond moments, yes a father
Bouncing you as you scream on his knees, then you rode that shoulder
Lifting you high in the air making you emit such squeals of delightful laughter
Though at his knees height you will in those moment come to admire
Setting that little mind you somehow decided his paths you will follow
Well then trapped in that world or innocence and childish fantasy
In later year will effect a mind change as in crept you individuality
This person who made sure that he was there when you walk
And most certainly express such joy with you as you started to talk
Also being happy on hearing that running of those little busy feet
Later would teach you to swim. On weekends a the beach
That strength and loving devotion was always there without fear
Not after providing his portion of DNA, take the moment to disappear
But was there as mentor, father to steer and of course demonstrate
That the vicissitudes of life can be sometimes hard to negotiate
On retrospect as a child we can now sit and appreciate that hand
Who despite the odds navigate that course through life treacherous land?
As you see that troubles of your peers give that feeling of sadness and yet so glad
That there was such a person called father, and also too an affectionate dad
Now an adult there is no doubt in the mind there will be such praise
For the person who played a part in the responsible way you were raise
The with that person you can now enjoy such thought provoking and meaningful conversation
With that person whose mind seems never bankrupt with ideas and information
But it is appreciative but how can one find that time to repay
That insurmountable dept that was accumulated from so many pathways
They may say that despite the bump seeing you the finish produce made him happy
And the tears in your eyes make them happy just when you say that word “Daddy”
