Life's Precious Little MomentsForever imprinted in my mind, forever etched in my soul, My history of various parts makes a life complete and whole, Encounters with their memories, special people in my past, Each leaving a special mark, on a rich tapestry that will last. From an early life of education evolves a world where I must earn, Leaving those scholarly walls I realise I'm now beginning to learn, I slowly learn the lessons of life, make some mistakes along the way, Creating a direction from experience, my personal pathway to this day I remember a hot summers' day, in Scotland that's a very rare call, Meeting a special girl to share my life, my bachelorhood about to fall, After walking down the aisle, overcome with a selfish sense of pride, Turning to Kate to say I do, a wedding ring on the finger of my bride, The birth of all my children, a special miracle that took place, The sound of their first breath, surprised expression on their face, A new cry of helplessness, a cry for a strange new world to hear, Gifting her loving parents a new sensation of happiness and fear, We made our home in Aberdeen, a special place in our heart, Then a brave decision for our family, a new country, a new start Moving to Queensland, Australia, alas a new chapter had begun, To build a new life for all of us under the warm sub-tropical sun, Now as proud grandparents, we look back on the life we've had, Rejoicing in life's successes, lamenting on times that were sad, We now have broad horizons as we travel through a life we share, Our family may have their wings spread; we're still their nest of care We have met some very special people; we've been to very special places, Remembering Jewish memorial in Berlin, remember sadness in their faces, Shared friendships that lasts forever, shared a bond as strong as steel, Hopefully we as a family together, leave our mark on a life's revolving wheel.
