Upon A Hill
A carpenter, a simple man
A King who came to save the damned
Would walk upon the world He made
Not all would see or give Him praise
He sought all those who called to one
The least of them He thought someone
Instilling words they never heard
Love and peace in souls were stirred
But arrogance would play it's role
Stealing days light in hearts stone cold
Reflections still we see this day
Ugly became what in us plays
Plays upon the thoughts of man
Cuts Life's line to hold and stand
A darker place that steers nowhere
The lost engulfed by lies they bare
His place would be but brief in years
Each step He took He too cried tears
Each one before His fathers eyes
To save us all as case was tried
Before a multitude, a sea of souls
He spoke upon a hill and told
Of how to be in one accord
Before all eyes there stood The Lord
But Life did come to save the day
Before the eyes His death would play
One more breath upon a hill
Forgiving man today yet still
Love becomes a better you
