 The Ring

Inside a draw of broken promise
Next to what seem was also honest
A picture framed now not the same
Of two now one both sharing blame

Late nights at work and empty chair
At dinner table soon took its wear
Leaving wake of no return
On bedside manners also burned

She said she'd leave if things don't change
Signs of the time took hold, estranged
What use to be, what is no more
Of failed attempts and stormed through door

Fallout strewn about the floor
Love letters these too no more
Spell whats left of once adored
No mas this day upon heart gored

There was at time like once upon
As reasoning also took on
It's role to mend what one had broken
A promise made for heart to soak in

Words came cheap and actions failed
To heal the hurt leaving tears trailed
Each passing day, and longing nights
Became of life now out of sight

The ring called "Precious" is no more
As so this story tells and tore
Another page of Happily
An overdose excessively
