On Martyr's Hill #247
On Martyr's Hill I'm climbing up on Martyr's hill To see the troops advancing still Upon the clay from which I came Of many sorrows, guilt and shame But time has yet revealed her hand When this was once a blazing land A land of joy, of peace and myrrh When every heart was moved and stirred To dance with songs of God's own grace And lived and strived in God's embrace Though sands of time have all erased The greenery that once was here The scenery that we held dear Still calls of Eden, yet I fear God's flaming sword that warns, "Stay Clear!" -Lighthouse Bob Comment On This Poem --- Vote for this poem
