The Touch

Touch is an emotional journey
Travels to and fro from the heart.
The touch of a sweetheart can take us
To a starry-eyed state of love’s art.

The touch of a child can connect us
To a love we could never conceal.
This journey begins in the cradle
Where emotional ties take the wheel.

The touch of a parent provides us
With stability, security, and strength.
The area allotted acceptance
Will extend far beyond an arm’s length.

Everyone of these touches are torches
That will brighten our way on this sod.
But the greatest touch one can encounter
Is the transfiguring touch of our God!

His touch transforms sinners to sainthood!
Takes the hell bound to Heavenly realms
Because His touch is unlike any other…
It overpowers and it overwhelms!

It will take us from teardrops to laughter…
To unspeakable joy and great height!
Where the utmost reaction is wonder!
Where the soul and The Spirit unite!

Until you’ve experienced His presence
No poetical words could proclaim…
The pleasure you’ll know on this journey
Or the feeling His touch will inflame.

Dedicated to Michael

1 Samuel 10:26
Saul also went to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by
valiant men whose hearts God had touched.

Jeremiah 1:9
Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched
my mouth and said to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth.

Daniel 10:18
Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength.
