Of Love, Of Grace
First love became the best of them
At times the worst as time would lend
But in life's pages a piece still lives
A place treasured, of time two lived
A younger pair, a past allowed
To grow of age, to know of how
Two hearts this day though aged a bit
Have kept what was by candle lit
Friends became of what was then
A better place when then was when
Aches and pains are now exchanged
But not of heart as things have changed
New love replaced the days of old
Days once had, things one holds
Holds to true and better days
Held as if they'll live always
Inside where no one sees of them
If just in thought where one pretends
Pretends if for awhile to smile
Spends though brief and walks a mile
Becoming who we are this day
Of Love, of Grace, of yesterday
